Beginner guitar gift vouchers
I teach a lot of adult beginners! It is never too late to start. Pupils just need the determination to succeed.
My beginner guitar lessons start off with some basic chords and strumming rhythms. We then move on to fingerstyle, riffs and more advanced techniques.
Pupils will learn how to read music notation in it’s various forms (standard notation, TAB, diagrams etc) as it becomes relevant to the music that they are playing.
I like to give beginner guitar lessons within the framework of well known songs and pieces, rather than using dry exercises.

I give acoustic guitar lessons from beginner to advanced level. I teach everything from early blues & ragtime through to folk, rock, pop & indie music.
I also teach acoustic bottleneck/slide guitar. Slide guitar is great fun, and it really is a different realm of guitar playing.
I have many years experience on the acoustic guitar. From my busking days in the nineties, through various acoustic bands. I spent many years on the London acoustic scene performing my original music.

Classical guitar gift vouchers
I give classical guitar lessons from beginner to advanced level. I teach everything from early music through to renaissance, baroque, classical, romantic and 20th/21st century pieces.
I also teach a little flamenco – just a little! If you are looking for flamenco lessons in particular, I recommend studying with a flamenco specialist. Flamenco techniques and style make for a great accompaniment to classical guitar study.
I had classical guitar lessons at Kingston University with Grahame Klippel. For further details of my classical guitar teaching repertoire, see my repertoire page.
Ukulele gift vouchers
The ukulele has seen a surge in popularity in recent years, with many rock stars now including ukulele in their repertoire. ‘Ukulele nights’ are springing up in pubs all over the country.
The ukulele is generally strummed or picked with the fingers. My ukulele lessons cover most styles, from beginner to advanced level.
Many styles of music can be played on the ukulele, but very serious music doesn’t work so well due to the ‘cute factor’! It is generally used as an accompaniment for singers.
I have been playing and teaching the ukulele for many years.
