Terms & Conditions — Cliff Smith Guitar Lessons

1. Introduction
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of online guitar, ukulele, and music theory lessons by
Cliff Smith (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“you”, “your”, “student”).
By booking or participating in online lessons, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Online lessons
We provide online lessons only, delivered via Zoom (or an agreed alternative) to pupils worldwide.
Lessons are tailored to your goals and level.
You are responsible for:
- a suitable device with camera and microphone
- a stable internet connection
- your instrument and any accessories you use during lessons
- joining the lesson on time using the link provided
3. Bookings & payments
- Lessons must be booked and paid for in advance.
- Payment is due at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson time.
- A lesson is not confirmed until payment has been received in full.
- Current lesson prices are shown on the Prices page.
4. Cancellation & rescheduling
- If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours’ notice by email.
- If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the full lesson fee is payable and no refund will be offered.
- Where at least 48 hours’ notice is given, we will do our best to reschedule to a mutually convenient time.
5. Missed lessons
- If you do not attend a scheduled lesson (including late arrival), the lesson fee remains payable.
- If you are more than 10 minutes late without notice, the lesson may be treated as missed.
6. No refunds
Lesson fees are non-refundable once paid, whether you attend or not.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
7. Changes to lesson fees
We may change lesson fees in future. You will be notified at least one month in advance of any increase.
8. Conduct & safeguarding
- Students must participate respectfully and responsibly.
- For students under 18, a parent/guardian should be available at the start of the first lesson and reachable during lessons.
9. Technical issues
We are not responsible for issues caused by:
- your internet connection, hardware, or software
- third-party platforms (e.g., Zoom) experiencing outages
If a lesson cannot proceed due to a technical issue on our side, we will reschedule the lesson at no extra charge.
If the issue is on your side, rescheduling is at our discretion.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from lessons or your use of our website and services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
11. Amendments
We may update these Terms from time to time. Revised Terms will be effective once published on this page.
Your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
